Window selector in the GNOME Panel

Window Selector AppletWindow Selector is a GNOME Panel applet; by default, it is displayed on the right edge of the top panel. It’s that icon where we can click to switch between windows by selecting them in a menu, as in the illustration.

I’d like to know: does anyone use the window selector instead of the window list?
